If children arrive at school in Wellingtons they will need to change into their pumps while in school

PE Kit should always be available in school

All clothing and personal property must be marked clearly with the child’s name to ensure a swift return should items be lost. The school cannot be held responsible for belongings which are lost in school as our insurance does not cover such instances. Parents may wish to ensure their own domestic insurance policy does.

For reasons of safety, jewellery (earrings, bracelets, necklaces etc:) should not be worn in school. Children who have pierced ears may wear one stud in the lobe of each ear. No other piercing are allowed. We strongly advise the removal of earrings for PE. Any injury caused as a result of failure to do so is the responsibility of parents. Cosmetics, including make up, nail varnish and hair spray are not allowed and other items (e.g. personal stereos, toys, mobile phones) should not be brought to school. Watches may be worn but are the responsibility of pupils and worn at their own risk.

The Governing Body of the school recognises that pupils could be vulnerable if they are unable to obtain school uniform and aims to help by providing a subsidy in cases of significant and proven hardship.

The school has a Clothing Allowance Scheme, funded from the school budget, for those parents who are in receipt of any of the following:

  • entitlement to Free School Meals via the benefit system
  • Income support
  • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
  • The “Guarantee” element of Pension Credits
  • Income-based Employment & Support Allowance – with annual income less than £16,190
  • Child Tax Credit (not Working Tax)
  • Exceptional Circumstances – eg a recent bereavement or loss of job

Children who are Looked After also qualify under the scheme.

The scheme will fund up to £26 per child, per school year, with uniform provided by the school, on receipt of proof of entitlement.  Please ask at the School Office for details.
